Babka Bakery was started by sisters Shir and Koral Goren, and named for the pastry that carried their great-grandmother's kitchen into their own. The counters run to crisp pretzels, breads and challot, cakes and cookies in a rotating spread of flavours, with coffee, sandwiches and quiches for anyone staying put. Two of the branches have a Babka Pizza alongside, built on the bakery's own dough. Customers talk about the pretzels and the bread with real loyalty. A small chain that still bakes like a neighbourhood bakery.
