A family-run Greek kitchen on South Cypress Road that has been feeding Pompano Beach for years, and it shows in how much of the menu is made in house - down to the shawarma. The Gyro Joint turns out gyros in pita and as platters, covers the classics properly with spanakopita, falafel, wraps and salads, then veers off into a gyro burger that has quietly become a reason to return. Prices stay modest; portions do not. What diners repeat most is the freshness of the food and how spotless the room is. Straightforward, and consistently good.
