A small Italian room on South Dixie, wedged in among the auto shops, cooking like somebody's family kitchen. Italia Station Cafe builds around pinza — the long, airy Roman cousin of pizza — with fresh mozzarella and basil, and rounds it out with hand-crafted pastas, classic seafood dishes, baccala balls, meatballs and sandwiches stacked with proper meats and cheeses. The bread comes up again and again in what diners say, along with the sense of being fed rather than served. Portions are generous, prices are fair. Off the tourist track, and better for it.
