Little Collins – cafe

Melbourne café culture transplanted to a Midtown side of Third Avenue, and it commits properly: piccolo lattes and flat whites pulled with real care, a room that turns over fast without feeling rushed. Breakfast is the main event — the B.E.C. Sammie, buttermilk pancakes, shakshuka, eggs benny, Green Eggs n' Damn! — and the afternoon shifts to The Smash, Dash's fried chicken sandwich, a short rib sandwich and a halloumi gyro. Later, the bar turns out espresso martinis, a white negroni and an Oaxaca old fashioned. Open from seven, seven days. Antipodean coffee, done seriously, in a very New York postcode.
