11th Street Cafe – cafe

A corner spot on West 11th Street, open at seven and shut by four — 11th Street Cafe has been the West Village's daytime default since 2006. Bagels come with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, dill and sprouts, or avocado; the croissant breakfast sandwich and pressed wrap both start with egg and cheddar and go where you send them. Steel-cut Irish oatmeal, overnight oats, salads and lunch sandwiches fill the rest, with a pastry case, a madeleine latte and lavender oat matcha on the espresso side. Regulars treat it as the neighbourhood's living room. Get there before the pastries go.
