נעה ביסטרו – restaurant

Up in the Judean hills at Kiryat Anavim, Nea started life as a local bakery and cafe and grew into an evening bistro that people now drive out of Jerusalem for. Chef Eldad Shmueli's kitchen sends out plates such as smoked trout, roast beef and fillet, built on the same baking-led craft the place made its name on. Tables are spaced generously, and the large terrace catches cool mountain air even in high summer. Reviewers and regulars keep returning to the same point: the cooking is confident and the setting does half the work. A hill-country detour that repays the drive.
