Poyo Loko does one thing in Jerusalem's Malcha area: chicken grilled over open fire, kosher, cooked to order. Whole and half birds come off the flame, with pargit burgers, chicken salad, burritos with spiced meat, fries and coleslaw filling out the board, and flatbread that goes back onto the grill until it crisps. Garlic sauce and salsa arrive on the side. Everything lands on paper plates, which tells you exactly what kind of place it is. Views on it are not unanimous, but the fans are loud about the whole chicken. Fire, chicken, no ceremony.
