Bakery 58 occupies a corner of Moriah Boulevard in Haifa, in the room a well-known cafe held before it. The counter is the draw: croissants, cakes and cookies, small breads and challot baked by hand every day, with a line of gluten-free items for anyone who needs them. Salads and sandwiches turn the visit into lunch, and the coffee is treated as more than an afterthought. Local write-ups have been warm about it since it opened. A neighbourhood bakery-cafe behaving exactly like one: early, unhurried, reliably fresh.
