A handful of plain tables in an alley off the Carmel Market, and a kitchen that cooks one thing seriously: kuay teow, the Thai noodle soup the place is named for. Chicken broth, rice noodles and pork dumplings in the kutyao-gai; wheat noodles in the bami version. The green papaya salad has been called the best in the country by an Israeli food critic. It is properly spicy, cheap by Tel Aviv standards and entirely unglamorous. Weekdays and Friday mornings only. Bangkok street food without the costume.
