A Thai stall wedged into the Carmel Market on HaCarmel Street, cooking to order in the middle of Tel Aviv's loudest shopping hour. Khao San keeps the roster tight and traditional: som tam to start, tom yum, pad ka pow, pad see ew and pad thai in both the tamarind and soy versions, red, green and massaman curries over rice or noodles, laap kai and yum woon sen for the table. Banana roti closes it. Heat is set to order, and gluten-free plates are on the board. Market food, done straight.
