On Yehuda Margoza in Jaffa, a couple of streets off the flea market, Pita Pita does one thing: skewers off the grill, stuffed into pita. The board is short and honest - kebab, liver, entrecote, butcher's cut, or a mix of two - and the line moves fast enough that the pita is in your hand within minutes. Order it as a plate instead and it comes beside the bread, alongside things like meat-and-aubergine, chicken salad or ember-roasted sweet potato. What reviewers keep returning to is the pita itself: packed to the brim with meat and somehow still holding together. Kosher, unpretentious, properly filling.
