Saint George occupies a historic stone building in Old Jaffa, arches overhead and the sea a short walk away. It was opened in 2013 by the third generation of the Shwiri family, one of Jaffa's long-established families, and the cooking follows that lineage: Lebanese and Mediterranean, leaning hard on fresh fish and seafood, with meats off the grill for the rest of the table. The room is large enough to take private and business events without losing its character. Diners consistently mention the hospitality as much as the food. Old Jaffa, cooked by people who grew up in it.
